My name is Melissa, and I have a wonderful, rambunctious family of boys ages 8, 5, 2 and 36(my husband hehe). I love to do things myself, which accounts for the fact that I have an uncommonly strong desire to work from home, teach my children myself (homeschooling), help my husband with his music recording, and attempt to keep an orderly home. The latter just does not happen…..very rare actually……Which is why this is called “A disorganized Mom Blog”.
I do not like to be unorganized despite what it may look like, so I am on a quest to keep doing all of the above and turn my home into the comfortable, relaxing, fairly organized place it should be!! And despite having the need to be hands on and do things myself, I realize too that I can’t do anything without Christ! Join me on this journey or “The Mom Venture”
*Update
I started this blog at the end of 2009 and haven’t posted anything since April 2013…… Yikes! lol
So fast forward to January 2018! My boys are now 14, 11 and 8…..Yikes again!
Time flies, as you can see. There’s been a lot of life happening in the last 5 years. Still married to my best friend/love of my life. The work from home dream is coming true. I’ve been able to make a part time income in that 5 years, that has, for the most part, continued to grow. I’m still homeschooling my two younger boys. The oldest, Nboy, started going to middle school in 7th grade (He’s now in 8th grade!) after we moved to a smaller town in 2016, which meant smaller school, which I am very fond of 🙂 I never did want to homeschool through high school, and I always said I wanted to keep them home at least through grade school, which is what we’ve been able to do. Eboy, our middle child, will start 6th grade at the middle school in September. I’m kind of excited about that! Next year I will only have our youngest at home for 3 more years.
We now live on 12 acres (I’ll tell you a little bit about how that happened in an upcoming blog post!) with 2 horses, 6 chickens, 2 dogs, a cat and some cattle.
Well, that’s all I’m going to give away for now! I’ll try and make some time to do a few blog posts to give more detail on what we’ve been up to!
